EAT... At the heart of the hotel is the kitchen
. It's really where it all started for us... For decades we've been using the freshest and finest of ingredients from right on our own doorstep.
From fruit, herbs and vegetables from our kitchen garden to locally-landed fish
from the day boats of Deal
to wild game
from the woodlands of the Stour Valley.
Yes, we've been awarded accolades for our cooking, but we don't do what we do for that, it's for the love of producing delicious
food from great raw ingredients that are predominantly native

SPA... Then there's The Garden of England Spa... It's a place that has evolved naturally
, influenced by our very experienced therapists who offer body treatments to restore well-being and peace of mind. It's a place to relax that is less clinical and more natural with an indoor pool, hot-tub, sauna & steam room, epitomised by the walk across the meadow and into the woods to the cabins for therapies. GLAMPING... "Quirky and Kooky"... Are two words that have been
used to describe our more unusual places to stay in the grounds of the
hotel. We have a handful of Hidden Hideaways and Gorgeous Glamping Places.
For something unusual or unique you could choose to stay in the
Lexington Tipi, The Stone-Stilt Hut and The
Woodcutter's Cabin. Continue Reading >>>
We are a family-run English, Country House Hotel – the British equivalent of those homely places in wonderful surroundings you sometimes chance across when driving through continental Europe and wonder why you have never heard of us before. And if you are headed for the continent, then we are the last stop on your way, just ten minutes drive from the Port of Dover.
We are not corporate, nor part of a laminated chain. You will not find a conference room, nor a screen for a Powerpoint ™ presentation…but if you wish to do business, we can find you a condusive space. (We have a quiet lounge bar, rooms with free wi-fi, but also have a cabin in the woods for brainstorms and another for stress-busting massages)
What you will find, is a homely, personal welcome.
Above all, you will discover the finest food outside London, the best of Kentish produce, prepared and cooked by a kitchen that boasts a Michelin Star winner and alumni of Marco Pierre White’s kitchen and Rick Stein’s school of cuisine.
Our food, like our music and staff, are locally sourced, native and in season. Some of it is rustic in the best sense, while others the nadir of sophistication and urbanity. We will always have the best fish, flesh and fowl the county has to offer at a price that won’t scare the horses..
We are lucky to be located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, in one of Kent’s most historic buildings, built around a Wealden Hall that, since the 12th Century, has hosted everyone from Crusading Princes to Winston Churchill. Despite our pedigree, we are not stuffy, we’ve only been here for forty years.
Of course, you may dress for dinner and we will provide the starched napery, discretion and service fit for a King. Equally, you can keep your jeans on for dinner, roll up your shirtsleeves and eat exactly the same food at our rustic Chef’s table. Champagne or beer to accompany - your choice, our cellar holds deep stock of both.
We aim to make Wallett’s Court a home from home, but better; a relaxing respite with wonderful food, refreshments in relaxing company and surroundings. And if you stay, we offer a range of accommodation from four poster beds fit for a king, to a Teepee fit for a chieftan.
The choice is yours, welcome to Wallett’s and make yourself at home.
Our location in an idylic country setting
around a mile from the beautiful beach at St. Margaret's Bay belies the fact that the hotel is only five or ten minutes drive from the port and Cruise Terminal at Dover
and around 75 minutes from the centre of London
. A perfect place for an escape for a relaxing break in Kent. Hotel Dover Kent.
